I’ve been wondering, why can’t life be a bit more like Perry Mason? Every walk of life is living their wild and craziness in unfettered abandon, bumping into each other, messing with each other, scrabbling over each other to get the gold ring, basically normal everyday stuff, until someone crosses that line. Whammo! Badness happens and everyone scrambles to either hide the truth or tell the truth as much as possible. Perry is on the case to protect the innocent even if they don’t want him to. Della is the voice of reason in stilettos and fabulous 50’s outfits. (I want that waistline) and Paul is on the case to find out all the necessary info while looking cool in his convertible. He even had a car phone back then. It gives me goose bumps.
But the best part is that the truth always got figured out in time, the bad guys got caught, the court always made the right decision, the good guy always got his hearts desire by the end of the episode, and everyone lived happily ever after. Week, after week, after week…..why can’t life be more like that? A lot crazy, full of opportunity, but just if not fair and with people out there watching your back and willing to help? I’d even settle for a few people who’s advice was worth taking….sigh…oh well, at least they still show the reruns…
